Change is natural and in most cases, it cannot be avoided. Organizational change is important and it should be continuous. Even though it is important when it has positive effects, the initiatives fail for many reasons. It could be the planning is not well-thought-of, there was no enough time to execute the plan, no collaboration, tooling and those involved did not put enough effort. By understanding the challenges that could be faced, overcoming the challenges would be easy.

  • Ensure there are Sufficient resources

For change to be effective, there must be enough resources to accomplish the goals. Whether it is a huge or a small change, for it to be a success, sufficient resources must be available and when needed. It’s easy to determine what and how much resources are needed depending on the scope of work. Lack of resources should not be an obstacle in achieving goals that are of benefit to the organization and the employees at large.

  • Ensure there is Proper Communication

It’s easy to change implementation to fail where there is poor communication. All the stakeholders involved should understand every step of the process, why a change is being implemented and the targeted goals. Communication is not all about holding meetings and talking to the stakeholders, but also documenting the plan and its executions. Critical milestones should also be communicated and everyone made to understand their roles.

  • Everyone should Endure

Like they say change is not easy, this is seen when change is implemented. Probably you have set a timeline of six months but it’s already five months and you cannot see any significant change. Remember that this cannot happen overnight and a few challenges may delay the success. When this happens, everyone involved should endure and keep pushing. It might take longer but that does not mean that it will not work. If it’s going to take longer, proper communication and motivation will help keep everyone on board.

  • Know how to Overcome Active Resistance

The first thing that most people do when change is being implemented is resisted it. In organizational change, most people can attest that active resistance is one of the most common obstacles. The management should talk openly about the changes being planned, get feedback from everyone within the organization and make them understand what it is all about. By doing this, it will not be a big challenge to get stakeholders committed.
